There is an appointment system in place.
Our reception telephones are available between the hours of 8.00am and 6.30pm to take bookings.
Please phone the surgery or call in to book all types of appointments.
Please keep means phone lines free early morning for those who are unwell and for appointment booking, when possible please leave it until after 10.30am for test results & general enquiries.
Please phone in the morning if you have an urgent problem.
Non-urgent appointment requests are offered the first available appointment. If you ask to see a specific doctor or nurse you may have to wait longer for an available appointment.
We will help you to decide whether you need a telephone or face to face appointment with your doctor/nurse.
Face to face appointments will be given as a time and date booking.
Your healthcare professional will do their best to see you at the allocated time, they do not like to run late but some days this cannot be avoided. Each patient has different and unpredictable needs and although each appointment is allocated a set length of time some will overrun. So, when visiting the surgery please arrive on time and be prepared to wait. Parents are advised to bring something along with you to occupy children whilst you wait.
For telephone consultations the GP will phone you before 1.00pm for morning bookings and before 6.00pm for afternoon bookings. The GP will arrange for you to come in for a face to face appointment if appropriate and this will be same day if you require an urgent assessment.
All children under 16 years of age with acute illnesses are offered same-day consultations
You can request an appointment by email. Please tell us what the problem is so we can select the most appropriate health care professional.
Our receptionists are trained in care navigation, we may direct you to another service if appropriate, not everyone needs to see a GP.
Nurse and health care assistant appointments are booked in designated clinics throughout the week.
If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible. There is always a demand for appointments and by not cancelling an appointment you may be preventing someone from getting the care they need.
